About Optimal Fertility
Optimal Fertility provides prospective parents with health information and natural therapies rooted in complementary medicine. This online resource grew out of Meridian Health Centre, a complementary medicine clinic in Edmonton, Alberta, specializing in reproductive health issues. Here, founders Amanda Roth and Darren Tellier — both practitioners of acupuncture and herbal medicine — treat men and women alike with acupuncture, Traditional Chinese herbal formulations, and professional quality supplements. It is our view that combining the holistic approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern, evidenced-based health products can produce better results than either of these approaches alone.
About our suppliers and products
Our Chinese herbal products are always sourced from suppliers that are certified GMP (Good Manufacturing Process). This allows us to ensure the products we sell have been tested for purity and potency, and don’t contain any fillers.
Our natural supplements are provided by two Canadian companies:
- Bioclinic Naturals: A leading manufacturer of professional evidence-based natural health products, complying with Health Canada’s Natural Products standards. Based in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Biolclinic provides research and clinical trial information related to their products.
- Advanced Orthomolecular Research (AOR): Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, AOR is considered to be one of the most advanced supplement formulators in the country. The term ‘orthomolecular’ refers to the right amount of a substance, delivered at the right place in the body, at the right time, and it is in that spirit that the company creates its products.
Our food supplements come from local Canadian distributors, such as:
- Harmonic Arts: Based in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, this small company is run by a team of herbalists and sells high-quality botanical products that deliver potent nutrition. Their mission is to share the healing powers of plant medicine with others and, to that end, they avidly search out the best possible sustainable, organic, and wild-harvested herbs both locally and internationally.
